On Saturday Mom and I headed over to celebrate Heather's (Troy's sister) baby shower with over 100 guests!
Unfortunately I didn't get a picture with the Mom-to-be since she was
busy mingling with the large number of guests. She wore this gorgeous
tight red dress. She is going to be a HOT momma! Everyone kept raving
how pretty she looked.
Since Heather is a bag fan of Italian food there was a huge spread of eggplant/chicken parmasean, different types of pastas, and heroes. Troy's mom brought a whole gluten free dish. It was a new recipe with cheese, chicken, broccoli, rice, and mustard. The mustard really gave the dish a tangy flavor. Alot of the guests even ate it without realizing it was gluten free! Hehe :)
I'm going to ask her for the recipe and will share it with you guys!
The decorations for the shower were simple yet classic. Mason jars seem to be the latest trend for everything if they are popping up at baby showers. I loved the mix of colorful roses that really brightened up the tables.

Labor Day Crisis Averted
Good morning from two sleepy heads in this picture!
Labor Day started off bright and early with a trip to the store for dishwashing detergent. I may have purposely made us shop near my favorite store ;)
Note to self: dishwashing packs and laundry packs do look extremely alike. Read the back of the box next time. Where I was house-sitting almost turned into this mess like the episode in the Brady Bunch. Luckily we saw all the laundry suds coming out of the dishwasher in time. Crisis averted!
No beach or BBQ plans for me since the weather was gross. The entire weekend was cloudy and rainy with no sun. I actually liked it since when it is sunny out, I always feel like I have to be outside. The yucky weather gave me some time to catch up on things around the house.

Mom's 48th. Birthday
Cheers to my Mom's 48th. birthday yesterday!
Every birthday should start off with a grande latte in my opinion. As you can kind of see in that picture, the morning started off pouring. So our plans for a beach day vanished quickly.
After staying in our pajamas for half the day lounging around, we finally got around to baking. Gluten free chocolate chip cookies! Side Note:{My mom does not have Celiac's, but she doesn't mind baking gluten free so I can have some} Betty Crocker makes a good mix. If I'm being honest I just wanted to bake them for the dough...I mean that's the best part anyway ;)
We had originally planned to go to the beach restaurant since their lobster is just delicious. But the weather was still cloudy in the afternoon so we decided not to chance going outside for dinner. Instead a pizza party!
Then it was present time. Mom got lots of Starbucks gift cards so I am hoping she will share some of that wealth with me haha ;)
She had a huge cup to celebrate the evening with too!
