Fun Facts Friday

1. Last week I finally used my Dunkin Donuts free birthday coffee. I told the employee all I wanted was a medium iced coffee, but he insisted he give me an extra large. Seriously, who needs that much coffee? The thing was as big as my head!
2. Anyone else not always melt their cheese, but just layer it over their burger? I was lazy and didn't feel like putting it back on the grill to melt. So I left it like this and it was tasty not melted!
3. I've been snacking on Julie's double chocolate protein balls, but mine look like poop haha! I think the gluten free flour changed their shape and consistency. They look gross but are good!
4. Anyone ever try Heinz's American sauce?! I saw it on Instagram and now I need to find this. I am a ketchup lovaaaaaa so I bet I would be a fan of this.
5. My nails are finally growing now that I painted them this crazy color.
Love how metallic and shiny it is! It dried super fast too.
6. When I make my coffee at home I love watching the milk dissolve into it. The colors always create really cool looking designs. Anyone else as weird as me? Probably not haha.
7. This picture cracked me when I saw it online haha! Too funny.
8. And if you want to hear from me twice today, head over to Nicole's blog where I am guest posting for her. I wrote about things I wish I knew before I started weight-lifting.

Today is going to be spent in the kitchen doing lots of cooking and baking so look for some recipes next week!

Happy Weekend!

Have you ever tried American sauce?
Melted or not melted cheese on food?
Would you eat something that looks like poop?

Cloud Gazing

I decided to take the day off from popping in on the blog world yesterday. Life has been much busier than normal this week so it's left me little downtime to write. And I don't like blogging just to blog.

On Monday I got an email about being mindful and being aware of the present moment. The email ended with a question "How would you feel if you looked at the clouds everyday for five minutes?"

I thought wow, what a powerful, but such a simple idea. So this week I spent time doing nothing but cloud gazing.
Let me tell you it will relax you. In one word- I felt calmer.
Life is all about appreciating the small things, but we all need reminders to continue to do so.

Some of my other favorite highlights from this week include:

A fabulous salad beast loaded with grilled chicken, tomatoes, olives, cucumbers, and crumbled feta cheese. The boyfriend and I were big fans of Pomodorino (for my LI friends) and can't wait to go back for Italian one of these days. And they had gluten free options which made me super happy!
The absolute gorgeous weather (no humidity or rain!!) the past couple days has led to many park trips.
With food of course. Mom and I grabbed Panera for a late lunch yesterday while soaking up some sun.
Feeling five years old at the nail salon while choosing colors that match cotton candy is always fun.
A late birthday present from Sephora, which resulted in trying and buying some new makeup. Can't wait to share it with you guys! I love hearing what products other girls love.
Eating SO many fresh peaches this week. I wish they tasted this good all year!

What's one highlight from your week?

Do you ever look at the clouds?

My Snazzy New Ride

And I thought I had hardly any plans yesterday....Monday proved me wrong.

After waking up early to get a hamstring workout in and I mean early!, mom and I headed over to one of the parades. My grandfather was driving a veteran that couldn't walk in his corvette.
We ended up parking far away from the actual parade- about two miles. So we had to jog to make it on time. Nothing like a little unplanned cardio run haha!

I ended up heading over to my family's for a little to visit in the morning. I wasn't planning on being out of the house all day, so I had no food on me. Also, no car/purse emergency snacks. I'm not supposed to be having dairy, but it was pretty much my only option.

Friday Favorites

Hiiiiiii! It's Friday! Vacation beginssssssss! Can you tell I'm excited?!

Hope by the time you are reading this I am safe and sound in Denver!

It's no secret I hate flying. So let's recap all my favorite things that happened this week to get my mind off of it. Sound ok? Ok good.

Spending the day at the beach with Wishbone! Sadly, she seems to have hurt her leg the other night. She has been limping and crying so the family is taking her to the vet while I am away. I'm just very worried about her <3333

Being Controversial On Marijuana

You guys may remember me mentioning that I had Monday off, well it was a good one. My mom actually took the day off from work so we got to spend it together, which is always fun!

After squeezing in a quick am workout, we both decided shopping was on our to-do list. My first stop was at NY & Company since they were having a major sale. I picked up a couple shirts for around $10 each (awesome). I bought the same shirt in four colors haha. I am super picky about clothes so when I find one that fits, I buy alot.

The Stairmaster is Wicked

Hi friends!

Oh my goodness, my whole body is sore. Yesterday was a marathon of fitness type of day.

In the morning, I trained with my personal trainer. We hit shoulders and hamstrings. I have officially moved up to the big boy shoulder press. Woot! This was a big gym moment for me over here. After doing some weights, I decided to pass on the usual cardio on the treadmill and use this wicked machine. If the stairmaster and the elliptical had a baby, it would look something like this. Oh boy, this thing is rough....I only did 30 minutes on this bad boy and sweat was pouring down my face. Nothing like a good face sweat.

Things Making Me Happy

Hey Hey.
Yippppppeee. It is the official start to the weekend and it feels glorious.

And holy moley excitement on the What's in my Purse post!!!

Honestly, I didn't even think it would be that popular. I'm glad you guys liked it. I was talking to my boyfriend about all the feedback from it, and he said "people want to see things they can relate to". His words got stuck in my head last night. It rings true for me that I feel like I know a blogger well, when I see they're human. It is very easy to read blogs and see their perfect life filled with a charming husband, toned body & abs, and healthy meals 24/7.
