Almost Like Starbucks Chocolate

Happy What I Ate Wednesday! Hope you all are having a good start to the day.

Instead of the usual shake on the way to school yesterday, I switched things up a bit. Over the weekend, I had baked up some more protein muffins and they looked too good to pass up. I defrosted one of those bad boys and grabbed two hard boiled eggs on the way out the door.

Don't worry I still had my beloved oatmeal cookie for meal #2. It was a good thing I had this since apparently oatmeal is good for your brain. I needed all the brain power I could muster for my statistics test. Let's hope I passed! It was a toughie.

Oh lunch was a good one. While at Trader Joe's on Sunday, I had planned on getting the roasted turkey which I LOVED last week, but they were all out. Womp womp. Luckily, I found this hiding next to the empty turkey spot! Plain grilled chicken strips that are already cooked. And if you're like me- in which you hate all the extra spices companies drown prepared meat in, you'll like this. It is not over salted or over seasoned at all.
I wrapped up a bunch of chicken, avocado, lettuce, tomatoes (they're hiding underneath that huge bed of lettuce), and some balsamic dressing. SO good! I think I might even have to say that TJ's grilled chicken is even better than the roasted turkey.

I hadn't planned on doing any crazy exercise since yesterday was a fitness extravaganza. However, I got out of school early and decided to head to the gym. I warmed up for 15 minutes on the elliptical (going super slow) and then my free headphones broke. Booo. I guess they were free for a reason. After that happened, I was super bored since it was mid-afternoon and I couldn't people watch. Yes, I just admitted that I people watch at the gym. It entertains me when I'm clock watching during cardio. I know I am not the only one out there that does this!

So, I decided to jump in the spin class for a little while. By the time I got home, I was hungrrrrry. Pineapple salsa and rice crackers to the rescue. Yum, I've been loving sweet salsa lately. I think I might have to restock my supply this weekend because I am running low. I did go through almost half a jar in one night, it is soooo good.

Dinner was here before I knew it. A grilled turkey burger topped with cheese, tomatoes, and green beans. Before Sunday, I never bought meat at TJ's. I don't know why-I guess I used to think it was super expensive? Anyway, I grabbed a pack of turkey burgers. These things tasted better than grocery store meat! My mom agreed she noticed a difference too.

Of course I added a ton of garlic to my green beans. More garlic please. I can never have enough.

After dinner, I put together my usual yogurt bowl with the last of my Valentine's Day candy. I am happy to say it is all gone and out of the house. When chocolate is in the fridge, I keep going back for it and you'll see why.

Ghiradelli's new caramel latte flavor tastes exactly like it sounds. For all you coffee lovers, you will love this new flavor. This chocolate tasted like my beloved Starbucks in a candy form. I will not be keeping these in the house ever because they are too good!

And some of you guys have been asking me about my figure competition. Don't worry I didn't forget about it. I am still trying to decide which show works best with my schedule. My trainer and I are leaning towards 2 shows in September. It will either be the INBF Natural Mania Nationals or the INBF Long Island Experience. We are figuring this will be the best time since I'll be graduating in May and can devote more time to it. At this point in time, I am just gaining a ton of muscle and won't start leaning out until end of April/May. Exciting stuff friends!! I'll keep you guys posted :)

Have a great day everyone.

Have you tried coffee flavored candies before?

  1. I really can't stand coffee and chocolate together. No idea why, I love them both separately. Your yogurt bowl with the chocs looks SO good though.
I should eat more wraps I think. I just always think I'll make a mess as I won't have 'done it up' properly...
