If you're looking for a last minute recipe for tomorrow, don't worry I got you covered. I spent the majority of the morning baking up this sweet treat.
Grown Up Rice Krispies:
- 2 cups white chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
- 3 cups rice cereal (I used gluten free)
- 1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows (I used regular size)
- 1/3 cup mini semisweet chocolate chips
2. Add the peanut butter to the melted chocolate and mix until smooth.
3. Pour rice cereal into a large mixing bowl. Pour peanut butter and melted chocolate mixture into the bowl and stir.
4. Add half of the marshmallows in it. Melt the other half of the marshmallows and mix in the bowl. Then, add the mini chocolate chips to the bowl and mix.
5. Spread mixture into your baking pan with the back of your spoon so you don't crush the cereal. I sprinkled more mini chocolate chips on top because who doesn't love chocolate?
6. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes until set. Then cut into 2 inch squares and serve.
The last step is to save a couple for yourself to eat because they're so good.
After my baking was done, I spent the rest of the morning exercising outside. I decided to skip the park today and venture into the trails. I have to admit this, I don't like running very much. It seems like the rest of the blog world runs 9 miles everyday, but I just can't get into it. 3 miles is my max. I like walking better and I'm okay not being a hardcore runner :)
I'm off to brave the Easter crowds at the mall to go to Walmart. I'm on the search for a gallon size water bottle to make sure I am hitting my water requirements. Talked to my trainer about leaning out soon, exciting stuff, but a post for another day!
If you're not celebrating Easter, happy weekend! See you guys on Monday
