Thoughts On No Sugar?

Happy Weekend friends!

I hope you all slept in much later then me. I was wide awake at 7am, it seems I can not sleep til 8 anymore. Does this mean I'm getting old?!

Some random thoughts:

Ferrets, I love them dearly. Growing up I was always wanted one, but my mom would not allow it. They just seem like such a fun loving, cool pet to have. Plus, being able to take them on walks is awesome! Seeing cute ferrets on leashes gets me every time. I asked the boyfriend if we can get one, this was his response. So I am guessing that is a no? I will have to continue to work on this.

Oatmeal is one food I will never get sick of. Adding fresh raspberries on top makes it that much tastier.
Dinner last night ended up being TJ's sushi. However, I ended up picking the rolls without my favorite part. No avocado! BOOOO. They were still pretty good though.
Index cards double as post-its in my house this week. I love how I wrote a to-do lists of all things to pack for a picnic. Then, went to the food store and forget to get half these things on this list haha. Where is my brain this week?
After seeing this straightening cream on Katie's blog, I knew I had to try this. My hair is super thick and gets crazy once the weather gets more humid. So, I am hoping this will keep the frizz down.
I am sure you guys have seen these all over the internet, but I am a little bit late on trying these out. I chose the coffee and dark chocolate flavor. It was good! Usually, I am not a fan of coffee and chocolate in fro-yo//ice cream forms, but I love it in candy forms. This coffee flavor wasn't overpowering or fake tasting.
My daily water intake has been slacking lately. It's so hard to drink cold water when it's freezing outside. I need to get back on track with drinking about a gallon and a half a day. My water has been getting mixed with fresh limes & lemons to change up the flavor. Also, I've been buying seltzers like it's going out of style. The only thing I don't like about drinking so much water is peeing every thirty minutes!

**On a different note, I am thinking about cutting out sugar from my diet. Since my diet is so limited already (with no gluten) I'm not exactly sure how to go about this. I have a doctor's appointment soon, so I am def. going to bring this idea up. I am thinking maybe too much sugar could be affecting my health. Who knows? My concern is what is left to eat if I cut out everything with sugar in it? I suppose I could lower my sugar intake by only eating items with naturally occurring sugar.

If anyone has any thoughts/ideas/resources about cutting out sugar, please share them! I need all the help I can get :)

Have a good Saturday!

  2. I can't find the Cho bites near me but i've been wanting to try them!! I could eat oatmeal non-stop, its so good. I just talked with my doctor and have an apt scheduled to go over my diet and see if it's something I'm eating that has been making me feel so sick. I hope I don't have to quit sugar or gluten, I have a feeling grocery shopping would be a lot more difficult.

  3. no sugar?? haha where's the fun in that? haha jk I try to stick to just natural sugars like fruit, honey, agave and less sugary items like plain greek yogurt and then adding in fresh fruit for a healthier snack. Would love to hear your dr's. thoughts on it -- also those little chobani's are soo good!! haha have a great rest of your day :]

  4. I have the same issues with drinking water. I totally do not drink enough..first because I just don't CRAVE it like some people do, and second because I hate having to go to the bathroom constantly! Now that it is so cold out I have actually just been drinking room temperature water, which I seem to like better.

  5. I think cutting out a certain food group can lead to obsessiveness and not really living. No one likes the person who gets a salad when everyone else is getting a burger =P

  6. I would love to know what your doctor says about no sugar as well...I suffer severe migraines, so my doctor won't even let me THINK about cutting sugar out of my diet, even though I wanted to try. I'm not supposed to even look at artificial sugars tho, so it's a tough balance for me!
