Crutches Are No Fun

Hope you're weekend is off to a great start! Mine is starting to get better after a rough night last night. Doctor appointments and MRI's are not exactly TGIF mood starters haha.

It turns out my knee is not getting better any time soon. Earlier in the week I went back to the gym to train hamstrings. As soon as I got there I could feel I wouldn't be able to workout. It doesn't hurt to walk anymore, but anytime I put weight on it, it started hurting. I figured a sprain would only last a week but turns out it's still not healed.

So Mom and I headed back to the doctors to have them recheck it with x-rays. Everything came back normal so they sent me for an MRI. I didn't really know what to expect since I've never had one before.
(In between appointments we stopped for a quick bite to eat for dinner. Love my Panera)

Put my body halfway in a tube, clue claustrophobia, loud noises, and I am not a fan haha. Luckily I made it through the 15 minutes ordeal. I give alot of credit to people whose whole body goes in. I don't think I would be able to handle that. The MRI place did have Pandora to listen to so I chose Mr. Marley to help me relax.

We got the results back this morning and I don't have any tears thank goodness. The doctor explained it is a really bad sprain and something with the bone at the bottom of my knee. So he said absolutely no weight can be put on it and that's the reason it isn't healing.
(My breakfast on the road this morning)

Meet my crutches! Haha they are no fun and much harder than I thought to get used to.
Next week I have a follow up with an orthopedic to see how long I will be on these. I'm crossing my fingers it will be only a week!

Gotta make the best of it either way. I'm off to pick up some movies from the library since I'll be laying low this weekend.

Have a good one friends!

  1. Oh no girl, I am so sorry! When I had the MRI for my stress fracture/tendon tear I was freaking out, that machine is scary. I also remember how upset I was when I found out I wasn't going to be able to workout for a long time. I hope you get good news when you go back for your follow up and are able to get off those crutches soon.
