Getting Our Grill On

Happy Monday! Not only is Monday off to a great start for me, but Katie has finally had her baby! So go over and send her lots of love for her new baby boy!

This weekend was the perfect mix of relaxing and busy. Friday evening was spent gettin' our grill on! Mom and I made a quick food store run to pick up some last minute items. This why I don't usually go to this food store since they have a Starbucks. Hehe but since it was Friday, I was all TGIF haha.
Luckily my mom's boyfriend did all the grilling so Troy and I just go to eat. And oh boy, did we eat alot. The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the spinach and feta sausage, way too spicy for me.

We also had some peppers and eggplant. I love eggplant on the grill, so much better than the oven.
My plate had a little bit of everything. Whew, I was stuffed after dinner.
On Saturday morning I actually slept in for once, which never ever happens. So instead of my usual walk/run outside I lounged around. Waking up late makes it so much harder for me to get going. Anyway, I decided to swim laps for exercise in the pool instead since it was so hot out. I didn't even notice the creeper in this photo until just now ;)
The day just flew by taking care of some stuff. Before I knew it, it was time to go out to dinner. We met the family there at Pomodorino's. Yes again because it is that good. No massive salad beast for me this time. I knew exactly what I wanted after seeing it last time. Grilled salmon over spinach. Oh my gosh. It was perfection on a plate.
Mom ordered the gluten free pizza so we shared entrees. Now this was amazing too. Not only was it fresh, but it was brick oven style. This place just might be my new favorite restaurant.
Then we headed to a fundraiser for Last Hope. It's a dog rescue where we used to volunteer. Yesterday was also my uncle's birthday who passed away last month. So we stopped to get ice cream to celebrate his birthday. Double chocolate and peanut butter mixed together with fudge and chocolate chips for me. Mine got all melted haha, but still tasted great!
Sunday was spent trying to fix the Keurig machine. It keeps saying it needs to be "descaled", whatever that means. After you-tubing how to fix the problem, I ran vinegar through it, then let it sit for four hours. Hoping it fixes the problem since these things aren't exactly cheap.
Gotta' jet friends. Catch you all later.

**Anyone else ever get this problem with their Keurig machine?!

**What's your favorite food to grill? I LOVE grilled tomatoes. I keep saying I need to try grilled homemade pizza so that might have to get done next weekend.

  1. I slept in on Saturday morning, too...until 9:30! I was shocked when I looked at the clock on my phone. I said that I was not going to set my alarm, figuring my body would have me out of bed by 8 anyways. Well, I was wrong ;).

    1. It's so unusual for me to sleep in so I feel like I've missed half the day already haha.

  3. I will grill just about anything! I think all seafood grilled is amazing, along with veggies like brussels sprouts, onions and sweet potatoes.

    1. Good idea on the brussel sprouts. I'm not a big fan of them squishy, but grilled maybe.
