We Didn't Start The Fire

Good morning Monday! How was everyone's weekend? My weekend absolutely flew by so fast, but filled with lots of fun stuff! It was a marvelous one for sure.
Friday night both of us headed over to see a family friend's new puppy.

Seriously, how cute is this little girl? Look at that face!

To me she looks like a boxer/hound mix. She's only 3 months old, but thinks she is a lot bigger. The sticks she was carrying around with were bigger than her haha. We were tempted to steal her ;)

Saturday morning started off early with a hot 30 minute walk with Wish. Then it was off to do lots of work outside for my grandparents. Moving the huge (and buggy) wood pile for two hours is hard work. So I got some cardio and lifting in that day.

Around 4 I finally hopped in the shower and headed over to Troy's for his birthday dinner with his family. We had a Thanksgiving turkey dinner. I think we all over-ate like it was Thanksgiving Day too haha.

For dessert I had planned on making smores dip at his house. All the recipes online sounded super easy and fool proof. Somehow I ended up with this burnt disaster. The part that dessert was ruined wasn't even the worse part. All the marshmallows on top in the toaster oven ended up going on fire and almost ruined the entire toaster oven, not to mention the kitchen wall.

So after almost burning down my boyfriend's kitchen, we finally made a new smores dip in the oven. And even that wasn't good haha! The whole layer of chocolate on the bottom was all chunky and didn't melt. That is the last time I try to make smores dip!

Good thing we had ice cream cake to eat instead!

After dinner Troy and I headed out for a date night (for the second night in the row I might add, go us!). Usually when we head out to the bar we go with a big group of friends. So Friday night it was nice just the two of us. And we actually had things to talk about haha. Sometimes after 7 years there is silence, just keepin' it real!

Anyway Saturday night we met up with friends. And I got my favorite butternut squash and cinnamon vodka. Everytime I always forget how strong they make that drink. I was feelin' it...

I'm so glad Troy and I got 2 date nights in. Sometimes with life/work/school/whatever you can get stuck in a rut just watching tv. Now I love me some lazy tv nights, but it's fun to switch it up. It felt nice recconecting.

Have you ever tried smores dip?

Ever have a kitchen disaster? Please tell me I am not the only one haha! It made it worse because it wasn't even my house & is family was over. Yikes!

  1. I've never heard of a cinnamon vodka drink before. Reminds me of fireball! I haven't tried smores dip, but it sounds glorious!
